Lee St, Sydney (Central Station) start walking! The tour will
be led by Shane Dredge, YHA's professional "Activities Coordinator"
Highlights
Hyde Park: Walking the complete length of the
park, with a comprehensive narrative on the War Memorial,
Australian Museum, St. Mary's Cathedral and AMP Tower.
Hyde Park Barracks: A quick visit to the entrance room
of the Barracks where a volunteer historian will give an account
of early Australia and the hardship of the convicts.
Macquarie Street: Fascinating information on The Mint,
Sydney Hospital, Martin Place, NSW Parliament House and the
State Library.
Royal Botanic Gardens: Walk through the gardens learning
about the flora and fauna. Opera House: From Farm Cove,
view the icons of the Sydney Opera House and The Sydney Harbour
Bridge from the best vantage point.
Circular Quay: A quick stop at the Opera Bar, with
the best view in Sydney.
The Rocks: A brief tour of the Rocks including walking
under the Harbour Bridge, stopping off at The Australian Hotel
to sample a piece of crocodile, emu or kangaroo pizza and
a beer.
Taxi ($10), bus or 30 minute walk back. Depending on time,
a quick visit to the infamous Scubar before heading to Wake
Up! for the Conference Welcome Drinks at 6pm.
